band history what we have done back in the days ... after first experiments in electronic music we founded shadow joda in 1997. our first tracks were basicly composed of samples but soon we started to mix these sounds with live elements. the roots of our music are hip hop and jazz but it's also influenced by different styles of electronic music. organic loops, distorted sounds, bitreducing effects. these ingredients, abstract beats and plasticine sounds fuse together with a small quantum of noise. shadow joda is mixing up electric elements and live played grooves, supported by artists like devastateyaearz of 88:komaflash (scratches) or the nfo.members dj phone phoenix (scratches), dr.sambesi (guitar), flinz (keys) and simon kummer (drums). in 2000 we released a 7" on pigeon records' collection called munich's alternative hip-hop music; zauberlandschaft and flip flash were on this record. the second track nouvelle characteristique was published on pigeon records' sampler hot sex in 2003. the latest release is the no rīn b rmx on the abstract art remixed record with cuts from dj phone phoenix. additionally, all of us have also been involved in various projects of the nfo.collective, a bustling network of innovative young musicians and other artists in and around munich.
